I’m trying to get in touch with the Kingsfield Kennels to ask for permission to use two of their German Spitz photos.
We are breeders German Spitz – Kleinspitz (23-29 cm) & Mittelspitz (30-38 cm), Keeshonds and Pomeranians from Czech republic (Europe).
I adopted a small dog and I was told she is a pomeranian but after reading up on my dog I am almost convinced she’s a german spitz. How can I find out what her breed is?
Well, if you’re in the US, the chances are almost nil- there’s so few GS in the US that they just don’t really end up in shelters. OTOH, there’s a LOT of really large poms out there. Lizzie is barely bigger than our friends’ OTCH pom (who came from rescue) Jasmine!
The first two US breeders websites have been taken down. The third, Kingsfield Kennels has not returned by emails or phone calls. Are there ANY spitz breeders in the US?
Sharon Buethler is, as far as I know, still planning a litter, and Kingsfield had one in the spring. I’m HOPING to breed Lizzie in the fall or winter, but we’ll see. Otherwise, there are a number of UK breeders who have exported and a few Australian breeders.
We have a female pup from the last litter from Kari & Todd Atwood and we’re considering breeding her. My only concern so far has been finding a mate outside of the Atwood bloodline.
We love her so much.
